Martin Van Aken is an experienced developer, technical team leader, teacher, and technical advisor with over 10 years of relevant experience. He is currently working as a Senior Software Developer at ios press, where he helps convert researcher work into practical products. Martin has a diverse range of skills, including technical team leadership, API development, data analysis, software and database design, reverse engineering, and code analysis. He is also proficient in several programming languages, including Ruby, Python, JavaScript, and React. Martin has worked with companies in various industries, including public health, social security, finance, and others. He is a multilingual professional, fluent in French, Dutch, and English. Martin is passionate about working with companies that make a positive impact on the world, such as those focused on education, health, poverty, climate, inclusion, and other socially positive activities. Before joining ios press, Martin worked as a Technical Advisor at Joyous Coding, where he was a freelance programmer, team leader, and coach. He helped teams develop better software and advised early-stage startups on software development issues, acting as an external mentor/coach. Martin was also the Director of Software Engineering at Skills Union. Martin has a strong educational background, with a Master's degree in Economics from Université Libre de Bruxelles and an Agregation in Pedagogy and Economics from Université de Mons. He also holds a DEC2 in Computing Science from Université Libre de Bruxelles.
